Jewett Construction Supports Enabling Virtual Public Meetings for Planning and Zoning Boards in NH
March 23rd, 2020
A Message from Craig Jewett, President and CEO of Jewett Construction
I want to tip my hat to a good friend of mine Adam Wagner, Founder & Partner of Market Square Architects in Portsmouth NH who has started a petition to allow for public hearings and meetings to take place virtually. Job well done Adam. Jewett Construction fully supports this initiative and we encourage all of our community partners to sign the petition on Change.org: http://chng.it/QQCpfNRn
I like being around creative can-do people who think outside the box and come with ideas to keep the trains moving. In these challenging times let’s figure out how we can get things done. Along these same lines, I'd like to present another idea - why can’t municipal inspections be done using the same method? With the technologies available to us, I see no reason why we cannot help these municipalities and perform videotaped or virtual inspections. They could be done live or recorded for review at a later date. Virtual / videotaped inspections could be conducted by third-party engineers with signed affidavits. In light of what we are all faced with it seems like a good idea and another way to win the war against COVID-19.
Thank you to Adam and Market Square Architects for the leadership. Catch you all on the next GoToMeeting.
Craig Jewett
