Safety is Our Priority
At Jewett Construction Company, Inc., safety is our
priority. We base this priority not because we have to, but because
we want to provide our employees, subcontractors, owners and others
with the safest workplace possible. We do this by making safety an
integral part of our construction philosophy. This is accomplished
by having an established safety policy/program, which is policed
and updated by a Joint loss Committee and a designated Safety officer.

Our Safety program states: “It
is the practice of Jewett Construction Co., Inc. and its employees
to maintain a safe workplace. All employees shall follow the safety
rules that are established by the Occupational Health and Safety
Act (OSHA), the Federal, State and Local Government, and Jewett Construction
Co., Inc. All employees must know their role in keeping the workplace
safe. An employee must have a copy of Jewett’s Safety Policy
on each job site at all times.” The Safety policy is compiled
into a manual and covers such topics from accident reporting to Hazard
Communications, Fire Prevention to Daily Reports.
It is the responsibility of all Jewett Construction
Co., Inc. employees to promote safety first and to enforce the
company safety programs on all locations occupied by Jewett Construction
Co., Inc. Additionally, all subcontractors are required by contract
to participate in OSHA and Jewett Construction Co., Inc. safety
procedures to ensure compliance with safety and health standards.
