Safety Creates Success

Safety is Priority #1 here at Jewett Construction, a philosophy that has earned us an Experience Modification (MOD) Rate of 0.79. It is our commitment to operate in a safe environment that will eliminate injuries to our employees, clients, subcontractors, and members of the public for every project and workplace whether in the field or office.

At Jewett, we believe that quality, productivity, and safety can all be accomplished without sacrificing one for another.  Accident prevention begins day one here at Jewett and is at the forefront at all of our work locations. We empower our employees to become familiar with and help execute our safety plan regardless of the position held.

In 2015 launched our “4EverSafe” initiative to promote and celebrate our corporate focus on safety to further instill it in our corporate culture. We want everyone to have the mindset of being safe at all times and to think before they act.

In an effort to continually educate and train our employees, the Jewett Safety Committee distributes regular safety bulletins as well as provides various training opportunities. To date, most of our operations personnel have completed the OSHA 30, Silica Certification, CPR, AED, and First-Aid training. As we progress from one year to the next we are committed to educating and fostering our employees to practice the “4EverSafe” philosophy.

In addition to having all of our Jewett employees being vigilant onsite and ready to identify potential safety risks, we have been contracting Contractor’s Risk Management (CRM), a third-party safety inspection company, to perform bi-weekly job site safety inspections on all of our job sites, participate in onsite preconstruction planning meetings, and even join our estimating team on job site walk-throughs to identify potential risks and activities as early as possible in a project.
