Delivering Exceptional Dealership Renovations and Building Long-Term Trust

FREMONT, N.H. – It is no secret that Jewett Construction has become synonymous with automobile dealership construction. Jewett Construction is a family-owned Design-Build Construction Management firm based in Fremont, New Hampshire. For more than 50 years, Jewett has been the go-to resource in New England for dealership construction, with projects ranging from simple additions to full ground-up builds of car dealerships and service centers. To date, Jewett Construction has completed over 200 automotive dealership projects across New England.

In late October 2022, Jewett teamed up with Gengras Motor Cars to renovate their Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Volkswagen dealerships in East Hartford, Connecticut. The Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram facility underwent a fully occupied renovation—meaning the work was completed while maintaining full dealership operations, including uninterrupted sales. That 17,000-square-foot interior renovation, completed in January 2023, included updates to the showroom, service area, and customer lounge, delivering a fresh new experience for Gengras customers.

Following the success of that project, Jewett is now executing renovations for the Volkswagen dealership, also located in East Hartford. That project is currently underway and is scheduled for completion by the end of March.

This is not the first successful collaboration between Jewett Construction and Gengras Motor Cars. In 2020, Jewett completed a state-of-the-art, ground-up Honda Generation 3 dealership for Gengras Upper Valley Honda. Situated on 4.74 acres, that project involved relocating the dealership from New Hampshire to Vermont. Gengras was so impressed with Jewett’s work that they’ve already signed on for three additional dealership construction projects covering other major brands within their portfolio.

“It has been a joy and a pleasure to work with Gengras Motor Cars on these projects thus far. The Gengras and Jewett relationship has been a great experience for both parties,” said Tom Marturano, Jewett Project Manager. “These projects have gone so well that Gengras has asked us to complete additional jobs with the other brands under the Gengras umbrella. It’s always a fun and exciting experience when you have a client that ‘gets it.’ The Gengras group has been very cooperative in the process; they’ve been interested in understanding the scope, understanding our process, and approaching the project as a true partner. We look forward to this continued partnership—there are sure to be some amazing projects to come.”
