Jewett Construction Expands in Maine, Hires Jon Sirois as General Manager

(Scarborough, ME) Jewett Construction Company, a New England regional design-build construction management firm and general contractor with a 47-year history, is taking steps to continue its growth in Maine. Jewett recently hired Jon Sirois as General Manager of Maine Operations and is preparing to open a new office in Scarborough during the summer of 2018. According to President Craig Jewett, this investment in Maine was a natural progression. “We’ve seen significant growth in Maine over the past several years and are committed to our clients in the region,” explains Jewett. “I’ve known Jon for years, it was an easy decision to bring him on board and I know we will do great things together.”

A central Maine native, Sirois attended The University of Maine in Orono, earning his degree in Construction Management. He began his career in Washington, D.C., working with a nationwide contractor where he quickly rose through the ranks from Project Manager to Project Executive, overseeing major government and private sector projects. After a successful tenure in the nation’s capital, Sirois returned to Maine, where he worked for one of the state’s largest and most respected construction managers, handling major renovations and new construction projects across the state.

With more than 15 years of experience, Sirois is poised to take the next step in his career. “The Jewett Construction name and reputation speaks for itself,” said Sirois. “I’m excited to build an even larger presence in Maine.”

He currently resides in Gray, Maine, with his wife and ten-month-old daughter. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, golfing, and spending time with his family in the Carrabassett Valley. A passionate advocate for education, Sirois frequently returns to his alma mater to give guest lectures on construction methods and construction management.
