Jewett Construction to Build Largest Furniture Store in the State of Maine for Jordan’s Furniture

(Portland, Maine) – Jordan’s Furniture, the premier furniture and mattress retailer in New England with one of the highest-grossing sales per square foot records in the United States, has selected Jewett Construction to manage the construction of their new location at the Maine Mall in South Portland. This is the first Jordan’s Furniture location in the state of Maine. Once open, the store will be the largest furniture store in the state with over 120,000 square feet of showroom displaying furniture and mattresses, along with an extensive outlet center.

Jordan’s Furniture will be located in the former Filene’s/Bon-Ton’s store at the Maine Mall. “Jewett Construction is thrilled to be partnering with Jordan’s Furniture on this monumental project for the state of Maine,” says Jon Sirois, Vice President of Maine Operations at Jewett Construction. “The Maine Mall has over 9 million visitors annually. We know that this project will bring great shopping and fun to the community for years to come.”

The project is well underway and the store is scheduled to open in spring 2020.
